ABOUT MCCI The Mangaung Chamber of Commerce & Industry (MCCI) is a voluntary alliance of businesspeople -from solo proprietors to corporations. From multinational companies to the communities we serve. MCCI is rooted in Bloemfontein and Mangaung, with its rich heritage and the Free State’s spirit of: I am because we are.
We believe a community worth living in is a
community worth improving. By uniting our diverse talents and
resources, MCCI empowers members and all spheres of business to
achieve collectively what would be impossible individually. This
includes amongst others: As a key player in the business landscape, the Mangaung Chamber of Commerce and Industry truly believes that we are where entrepreneurship and opportunities unite. When consumers know that a Small Business is a member of the local chamber of commerce, they are more likely to think favorably of it and more likely to purchase goods or services from the company.
Member companies involved in its local chamber
through visibly supporting businesses and business initiatives in
order to ignite economic activities. Thus showing a commitment
towards the consumers that strengthen and support member businesses
by giving back to their local business communities. The Chamber of Commerce & Industry in the Free State originated in the late 1900’s, as one of the oldest Chambers in South Africa. Through the years changes and adjustments took place on a regular basis, especially name changes. The last name of the pre-amalgamated chamber was Sentrale Besigheid Ingelyf / Central business Incorporated (2003) In 2003 the BCCI emerged from the unification of three legacy business bodies—Central Business Incorporated, the AHI, and NAFCOC to form a unified Chamber of Commerce & Industry for Bloemfontein and surrounds and was named Bloemfontein Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The AHI and NAFCOC left the BCCI within the first few years and this Chamber of Commerce and Industry (member of SACCI) continued until 2013 when the name was changed to the Mangaung Chamber Of Commerce And Industry (MCCI). This was done in order to join forces with the new Metro formed in Mangaung. |
